ARMORY SQUARE'S HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS A'GIFT' TO COMMUNITY

Armory Square Association’s special live music entertainment programmed weekends throughout the neighborhood can be considered a holiday gift to the CNY Community. Further, this year the gift is touted as one that 'keeps on giving' with some places collecting donations to benefit Upstate Golisano Children'’s Hospital.

Entertainment includes street carolers and live music in restaurants, afternoon teas and early evening cocktail hours. Especially notable over all the events is the presence in the Square of two famed characters, Abe Walton, first visionary of the eclectic district, and Santa Claus, the jolly personality who hands out candy canes to children. Together, the pair welcomes visitors while creating the magic of the holidays.

Here are this year's 'Holiday Happenings' in Armory Square:

Friday night, November 25, 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Teenage and young adult students of Signature Music perform live in Musical Windows on the Square at the Mr. Shop. Across the way, in the Residence Inn Lobby Bar, 5:00 to 7:00 pm, the 'Foutch and Ferrara' Duo entertain with their special art of flute and classic guitar.

Saturday, November 26

Indoors:
Blue Tusk, 12 to 2:00pm – Keyboardist Dick Ford, Director of Signature Music, keeps the lunch crowd humming.
Empire Brewing Co., Jingle Bell Brunch, 12 to 2:00pm – Chris James & Mama G rock the crowd.
Jefferson Clinton Hotel Tea (free), 1:00 to 3:00pm –Jody Grenier tickles the keyboard, playing his expansive repertoire of musical genres.
Kitty Hoynes Celebrates Christmas in Killarney, Live Music, 1:00 to 4:00pm
Residence Inn Lobby Bar, 5:00 to 7:00 pm – The Jeff Stockham Duo from CNY Jazz Orchestra livens the cocktail hour with trumpet and piano.
SKY Armory Night Market, 4:00 to 10:00pm
Outdoors, 1:00 to 3:00 pm – The Harmony Katz Barbershop Chorus, featuring some 25 members from the local chapter, carol throughout Armory Square streets performing a variety of four-part music.

Saturday, December 3

Indoors:
Blue Tusk, 12 to 2:00 pm – Keyboardist Dick Ford
Empire Brewing Co., Jingle Bell Brunch, 12 to 2:00 pm – The B-Side Band plays hits of the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Jefferson Clinton Hotel Tea (free) 1:00 to 3:00pm - "Foutch & Ferrara" Duo
Kitty Hoynes Christmas in Killarney, Live Music from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Residence Inn Lobby Bar, 5:00 to 7:00 pm – "Carol of the Bells" Guitar Ensemble from Music School of CNY heralds the rich sounds of the season.
SKY Armory, 1:00 to 3:00pm – "Gingerbread" Holiday Tour brings visitors inside to experience beautiful ambiance and tasty treats
Outdoors, 1:00 to 3:00 pm – The Tom Dooley Choraliers, and The Cathedral Church Choir Singing alone and together, the two groups provide a host of voices to swell holiday music throughout the Square with the men's strong a cappella choir and the Cathedral's Choir of some 26 men and women.

Empire Brewing Co., Jingle Bell Brunch, 12 to 2:00pm – Better Than Bowling Band serves up an uncommon blend of Rock & Roll, Blues and classic rock originals
Jefferson Clinton Hotel Tea (free), 1:00 to 3:00 pm –Laura Brown, known widely as the 'street violinist,' soothes the souls and hearts of listeners with her repertoire of string music
Kitty Hoynes Christmas in Killarney, Live Music from 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Residence Inn Lobby Bar, 5:00 to 7:00 pm – Jerry Cali, seasoned acoustical musician covers a wide variety of musical genres from pop to blues to reggae
SKY Armory, 1:00 to 3:00pm - "Gingerbread" Holiday Tour
Outdoors, 1:00 to 3:00 pm – Oneida H.S. Chamber Choir, voices of a unique a cappella ensemble composed of seniors drawn from the school's large choral program and directed by Heather O'Connell

Saturday, December 17

Indoors:

Empire Brewing Co., Jingle Bell Bruch, 12 to 2:00 pm –Bradshaw Blues Trio play a mix of original and familiar blues, ballads and rock
Jefferson Clinton Hotel Tea (free), 1:00 to 3:00 pm –Gail Lyons, Harp virtuoso enthralls listeners with her mastery of the instrument
Kitty Hoynes Christmas in Killarney, Live Music, 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Residence Inn Lobby Bar, 5:00 to 7:00 pm – Harmony Katz Barbershop Chorus
SKY Armory, 1:00 to 3:00pm – "Gingerbread" Holiday Tour
Outdoors, 1:00 to 3:00 pm - Chittenango Select Choir, under the direction of Matthew Stearns, returns to Armory Square to sing many hits from its seasonal repertoire.
