"Made from scratch: Reclaiming the pleasures of the American Hearth"1 "Making something from scratch - the implication is that it will be done with much attention to detail and will produce an extraordinary result."2 PASTABILITIES....located in Syracuse's historic Armory Square district since 1985, continues in its reputation as being one of Syracuse's hot spot restaurants. Featuring a New York City "SoHo" mood with exposed brick walls and seasonal outside front and beautiful back courtyard dining. Pastabilities features seasonal entrees, full service dinners and a unique self-service lunch menu as well as their own handcrafted breads and pastas. Artisan Breads defined: Made by hand with high quality ingredients; incorporating artistic interpretations of traditional methods. Unlike commercial breads, these breads display homemade craftsmanship in both taste and appearance. Karyn Korteling, owner of Pastabilities and Pasta's Daily Bread, began the quest of making artisan bread for her restaurant as a natural companion to the existing mission of the restaurant: an unwavering commitment to serve food make from scratch. While handcrafted breads made with simple, fresh ingredients are essential elements for success, they are not the only fundamentals that set this business apart. Pastabilities' unique menu items such as its homemade raviolis and signature "spicy hot tomato oil" are crowd pleasing favorites. Pastabilities also has a strong devotion to keeping up with the changing times and customer satisfaction.
